It was a pleasure to host the Black Country Women In Leadership Network event to mark International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, 2023.
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce network supports women in senior roles across the region and for the special IWD event, the keynote speech was delivered by Tru Powell, an award-winning entrepreneur and personal brand coach.
He guided attendees through how to build a personal brand and how to take control of your own publicity.
He was joined by Halesowen-born Charlotte Pearce, recently crowned GB entrepreneur of the year and founder and CEO of Inkpact, which creates hand-written notes for leading brands.
The theme of the afternoon was Reputation Matters and two of our team – Matt Dudley, a Partner in our dispute resolution team, and Rhian Gray, a Partner in our family law team – discussed a range of issues.
These included the importance of reputation and how adverse media coverage and social media can cause significant damage, defamation, and when reputation, brand and image might not be what it seems in the family law arena.
Sophie Wardell, HR Director, said: “It was a privilege to welcome the Chamber of Commerce and guests to our Waterfront offices to mark International Women’s Day.
“We are rightly proud of the strong representation of females here at Higgs and the impact they make every day on behalf of our clients and it was fascinating to hear from Tru and Charlotte about their work and first-hand experiences when it comes to reputation matters.”
