Colleagues at Higgs LLP have gathered to learn more about the evolution of LGBT+ rights in the UK.
People from all departments attended a breakfast meeting to watch a brief history video followed by a TED Talk as part of LGBT+ History Month, which runs throughout February.
There was also an opportunity for colleagues to sign up to be part of the Higgs walking group at the Birmingham Pride parade on May 27.
Higgs has almost doubled its parade capacity to 40 due to demand. It will be the third consecutive year the firm has been represented at the popular event.
The firm has also this week launched the option for its people to state their pronouns on their email signatures.
Lucy Williams, Associate in the Higgs Employment team and one of the leads in the Inclusion Group behind the LGBT+ activities, said: “We are delighted to see so many of our people engaging with LGBT+ History Month in such a positive way.
“Higgs is a keen advocate of inclusion and believes that diversity should be celebrated.
“As a firm we also have a ‘Proud Together’ network which serves as a support group for colleagues. It’s fantastic to see the strides we have made in recent years and we’re looking forward to once again flying the Higgs flag at Birmingham Pride.”
