Teams from 40 West Midlands businesses were on target as they helped raise more than £10,000 for Black Country charities in the annual Higgs LLP football tournament.
The popular six-a-side event, organised by leading regional law firm Higgs LLP and held at Stourbridge Rugby Club, attracted multiple entries from the business community.
The £10,000 raised will be added to the Higgs’ Charitable Trust Fund which will support charities and organisations in the Black Country throughout the year.
Nick Taylor, Managing Partner at Higgs LLP, said: “After a two-year absence from staging the tournament due to the pandemic, it was fantastic to get the football event back up and running.
“So many teams return year on year which, alongside new entrants, makes for a fantastic atmosphere and occasion.
“The event is always friendly but competitive and, most importantly, it’s great to see companies from right across the business spectrum of the West Midlands come together to raise funds for some fantastic causes.
“The pandemic has hit charities and community interest companies hard and we have decided this year to raise as much as possible through our Higgs’ Charitable Trust and then spread the funds across a number of inspirational causes in the area.”
Digital workplace solutions company Oosha came out winners of the event, beating BK Plus in the final.
Ortus Group finished third while BDO won the plate on a day when more than 100 matches took place.
