Higgs LLP has been shortlisted in two top awards which honour the law firm’s excellence in corporate deals and its commitment to supporting their local community.
The firm is celebrating after being shortlisted in multiple categories in this year’s Insider’s Midlands Dealmaker Awards – including Corporate Law Firm of the Year – which celebrate the region’s best advisers for corporate mergers, sales and acquisitions.
Higgs LLP is also a finalist in the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards in the Business Commitment to the Community category, paying tribute to the firm’s efforts to make a difference to the lives of others in the region.
Nick Taylor, Managing Partner of Higgs, praised everyone involved in delivering on the ethos of commercial success and corporate responsibility.
He said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted in both the Midlands Dealmaker Awards and the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards.
“Our corporate team continues to excel and this nomination is testament to the hard work of all.
“We have been involved in a number of significant multi-million pound transactions, both internationally and at home. Our highly-experienced team of lawyers continues to produce consistently impressive results.

As well as Corporate Law Firm of the Year, Higgs has been nominated in the International Deal of the Year category for its involvement in the £15.5m Sale of Clearcomm to Indian quoted Sterlite Technologies.
The firm has also been shortlisted for Mid-market Deal of the Year for advice in the sale of Hydropac to Bunzl, while Head of Corporate Richard Griffiths is nominated for Corporate Lawyer of The Year.
There were almost 1,000 nominations put forward for the awards across all categories and the winners will be announced on September 22 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
The Chamber Awards ceremony will be on September 16.
Some of the firm’s recent community activity includes providing more than 60 wellbeing packs to Black Country Women’s Aid as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, raising £2,700 for men’s mental health CIC The Black Country Blokes and raising more than £10,000 for regional charities through the annual six-a-side football tournament.
Higgs has also run initiatives to boost its diversity and launched its Proud Together LGBTQ+ and Allies network, while continuing to deliver career advice to young people in local schools through their work as a Cornerstone Employer.
