Beverley Scriven
Head of Standards & Ethics
"I am a solicitor with over 30 years’ experience firstly as a litigator and then heading the firm’s Standards & Ethics team.”
I joined Higgs LLP (then Higgs & Sons) as an articled clerk in 1991 and was admitted as a solicitor in 1993.
For twenty years I worked within the firm’s dispute resolution team acting for a broad spectrum of clients involved in a similarly broad range of disputes.
Being a litigator equips you with a certain skill set particularly when it comes to risk and the interpretation and application of rules, so when an opportunity arose to head a dedicated Standards & Ethics team (often referred to as risk and compliance) it felt like a perfect fit.
I am proud of the fact that at Higgs we take our regulatory obligations extremely seriously, not because we must but because we want to operate our business in the right way for our clients, our people and our business partners and community.
