George Hinchmore
Senior Associate – Corporate Tax
"As a corporate tax solicitor at Higgs, I specialise in advising on and implementing tax efficient structures to achieve commercial outcomes for my clients.”
I joined Higgs in March 2021 as a solicitor in the corporate tax team after obtaining a master's degree in law, business, and management in 2020.
I advise a wide range of clients, from owner-managed SME businesses to international groups, employing a commercial and proactive approach to tax planning matters and transactions.
I work closely with business owners, directors, and their other professional advisors to achieve advantageous tax solutions. This encompasses a broad spectrum of corporate tax work, including employee incentive schemes, wealth management, succession planning, and group restructuring.
I routinely handle various tax planning matters, which includes providing advice on structures related to management buy-outs, trade sales, and employee ownership trusts.
Alongside my work I’m currently working towards my ATT and CTA qualifications.
- Routinely advise on sales and acquisitions ranging from £1m to £100m
- I have implemented a number of management buy outs for clients ranging from £1m to £50m in value.
- Designing and implementing various employee incentive arrangements for clients with the use of EMI share options and growth shares.
- Advised on international group restructures coordinating cross-jurisdiction work with advisors in, the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
- Advised on the sale and purchase of companies into Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs)
