"I am the firm’s finance director and a member of the firm’s main board, with responsibility for the firm’s financial management and ensuring that all aspects of financial control are aligned with the firm’s wider strategic objectives.”
I joined Higgs in 2015 as financial controller and was promoted to finance director in 2020.
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004, and having started in audit at Grant Thornton, transferred to the corporate finance team, specialising in transactions services.
I then moved to a large multinational children services provider based in Bromsgrove as their head of finance before moving into professional services, and the role at Higgs.
Accordingly, I have built up considerable experience in practical and commercial financial management, working capital management, due diligence investigations, and negotiations with suppliers and lenders, in addition to supporting the firm to grow and do so profitably.
During my time at Higgs, I have sat on both the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion and Green committees, both of which I feel are key areas for Higgs to take a leading role in, particular given our strong reputation in the Black Country, and our desire to have positive impact on our people, our clients, our business partners and our community.
I am also the firm’s COFA (Compliance Officer for Finance & Administration).
