Higgs’ construction and engineering team, led by Rachael Hobbis, has provided advice to a large utilities sub-contractor in respect of various infrastructure framework contracts to be entered into by the client with employers including local authorities and utility companies.
The framework contracts were based on the NEC suite of contracts and provided various forms of sub-contract to be utilised between the parties depending upon the works to be instructed.
The team undertook a comprehensive risk review of the contracts which were then discussed with the client at length to ascertain its appetite for risk and to confirm whether the terms provided met with its expectations.
Thereafter the team provided a mark up of proposed alternative terms in line with the client’s expectations and assisted the client in negotiating and concluding the terms of the contract.
