Experts from leading Midlands law firm Higgs LLP have helped to advise a nursery group on its latest tranche of acquisitions.
Members of the Higgs corporate, tax, property and employment teams advised The Old Station Nursery (OSN) group on eight further acquisitions.
Higgs is a long-standing partner of the OSN group, which has undergone significant growth over the past few years as part of its ambitious plans.
The team advised on the acquisitions of Catherine House Day Nurseries, which comprises three nurseries in the West Midlands and one in London, and Humpty Dumpty Childcare (hdc), which has four nurseries in Devon.
Catherine House Day Nurseries has been operating since 1987, while hdc was first established more than 30 years ago.
Geoff Kettle, Partner in the corporate law team and project lead on the acquisitions, said: “We’re pleased once again to have been instructed to support OSN on its latest acquisitions.
“We’ve worked with OSN on several deals and it’s pleasing to see the group continuing its drive for growth.”
The OSN Group was named as the 12th largest nursery group in the UK by Nursery Chains league, in March 2022.
Since it made its first acquisition in October 2019, it now has 71 settings across the country, providing care for 4,744 children.
OSN was acquired by French-based childcare giant La Maison Bleue in 2019, a deal also orchestrated by Higgs.
Sarah Steel, CEO of OSN, said: “We are excited to welcome Catherine House and hdc to The Old Station Nursery Group. As a group, we work together to form a very special community of nurseries; ensuring we continue to innovate the ways in which we provide the highest standard of care to all children.
“We really appreciated having the Higgs team to support us with these latest acquisitions. We know each other well and trust each other, which is vital when completing complex transactions.”
