Higgs LLP has advised a leading UK producer of food and botanical flavourings on the completion of its sale to a food and beverage specialist.
Richard Griffiths, Partner and Head of Corporate Law at Higgs, led the legal transaction that saw Quest Ingredients, part of Quest Nutra Pharma Group, being sold to Fuerst Day Lawson (FDL), a portfolio company of Highlander Partners.
Operations at Quest Vitamins, which manufactures food flavours, animal feed flavours and active botanical extracts, will continue at its Hereford base, with existing staff joining FDL.
Mohamed Hassam, Group Managing Director of Quest Nutra Pharma, said: "Higgs LLP worked hard on this project and achieved and excellent result.
"Whilst the deal had some curve balls and issues, particularly on property, data protection, banking and IP, Higgs guided us through professionally and diligently.
"We look forward to working with Higgs going forward on day-to-day legal work and hopefully another transaction in the future."
Richard said: “This was a legally complex transaction which involved the input of numerous specialist lawyers from across the firm. We really enjoyed working with Mohamed and the wider team to ensure a successful and timely completion of the sale and are looking forward to supporting the wider group with their future legal requirements.”
London headquartered FDL was founded in 1884 and develops and manufactures proprietary taste and nutrition ingredients for the food, beverage, confections and other consumer markets. It serves a global customer base with operations in Europe, USA and Asia.
