Kate Woodhouse
Trainee Solicitor - Employment Law
"I am a trainee solicitor in the business services department specialising in employment law,”
After successfully completing Higgs’ spring vacation scheme and graduating with a first class honours degree in Law (University of Birmingham) before achieving a distinction in the Legal Practice Course (University of Law Bristol), I commenced my training contract with the firm in September 2023.
In my first seat, I was part of the private client department, where I was responsible for assisting individuals on wealth matters specialising in wills, lasting powers of attorney, trusts and estate planning. I am now in the business services department as part of the corporate law team.
I have volunteered with charities including being a mental health crisis support worker for Shout UK, a child contact volunteer for Birmingham Child Contact Centre and as a women’s refuge caseworker for Anawim.
I am also actively involved with the Birmingham Solicitors Group, Birmingham Trainee Solicitor Society, Black Country/Wolverhampton JLD and Bristol JLD.
