I have over 20 years experience of all aspects of wealth and succession planning matters. I advise both individuals and families on their succession requirements which are often achieved through the preparation of wills and trust structures.
I advise on lifetime trust creation and the administration of ongoing trusts.
I have significant experience of advising executors and trustees of wills which establish trusts and assisting families with the implementation of estate planning incorporated into wills.
I have a key role in the technical development of the team and chair the team’s Technical Development Committee. I also have a key role in the development of planning strategies and legal precedents used by the team.
I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
- Restructuring of trusts holding shares in a family company with significant value to achieve a family-wide inheritance tax saving
- Restructuring trusts created by wills to enable the residence nil rate band to be claimed
- Restructuring trusts established by wills for succession planning and asset protection purposes
- Advising families, executors and trustees on estates where shares in a family company are directed into a trust established by a will
- Preparing a deed of variation to redirect an estate into a spouse-exempt trust to prevent an inheritance tax liability
