Lucy Obrey

I lead the private client department and also head the wealth preservation team, having been a partner at Higgs since 2005. 

I have over 20 years experience of all aspects of wealth and succession planning matters.  I advise both individuals and families on their succession requirements which are often achieved via a combination of the preparation of wills, trust structures, family charters and family investment companies. 

I am a director of the firm’s trust corporation, Higgs Trust Corporation Limited, and often lead on estate administration instructions having formed a long term relationship with the family. 

I advise on both trust creation and the administration of ongoing trusts acting as both a trustee and adviser to independent trustees. 

I work closely with our business services department to ensure that all aspects of any succession plan fit in accordance with existing or new corporate structures. 

I lecture extensively to include speaking annually at the national Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners conference drawing from my own experiences in practice to give practical and relevant information to my audience.  I am often approached by business partners to provide support to them on complex client instructions. 

I am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and Solicitors for the Elderly.  I hold the Step Advanced Certificate in Family Business advising.
